Drawing inspiration from overwhelming presences beyond human understanding, as well as from an admiration for and interest in particular individuals rooted in personal experience, the artist works with a wide range of materials, including clay, stone, and FRP. While creating distinctive narratives articulated through physical relationships, the artist also seeks to imbue the works with inner emotions such as pain, fear, longing, and awe. In making these works, particular attention is given to weakness, failure, and imperfection—qualities that stand in contrast to the strength, grandeur, and sublimity often associated with sculptures that emphasize masculinity.
