Driven by vivid childhood memories of events such as 9/11 and the Aum Shinrikyo attack, Nakamura is a researcher of contemporary German ideology, philosophy, literature, and aesthetics to focus on conflict and resolution between the rational intellect of science and the irrational faith of religion. He is currently exploring the possibilities of interfaith dialogue and coexistence through the theme of “intercultural philosophy.”
Nakamura (b. 1995, Kyoto) is a teaching assistant at Mie University and a doctoral fellow at the University of Tübingen. From 2016 he has contributed to the critical review journal 『夜航』(Night Voyage). Notable texts include “Contemplating Non-Systematicity and Freedom in Schelling” (Philosophy, No. 72, 2021) and as a co-editor on Miki Kiyoshi and the Crisis of Thought (Chisokudo Publication, 2024). As a translator, he has worked on numerous essays in German and English, including Transcendental Ontology: Essays in German Idealism by Markus Gabriel (Jinbun Shoin, 2023) and Force: A Fundamental Concept of Aesthetic Anthropology by Christoph Menke (Jinbun Shoin, 2022).
