Artists
Shoichi Ida
Exhibition Period

2020.09.11 (Sun) - 10.25 (Sun)

In the 1960s, Shoichi IDA incorporated Pop Art, which was a new trend in art, and has got a lot of attention while depicting motifs of the toilet bowls, baby bottles, or naked babies in a bright color.Receiving a grant from the French government, IDA has stayed in Paris and explored further expression to superficially capture invisible images such as "wind" or “air". He has established his philosophy that becomes his lifelong concept "Surface is the Between - Between Vertical and Horizon" in the 1970s, and by employing oil, ceramic, bronze, and paper pulp or so on, has worked energetically in production after the 1980s.
