KIKA contemporary art space (KIKA cas) is a creative venue that brings together art and people through solo and group exhibitions, performances, talk events, and more. We provide an environment that is conducive to engaging with audience members and open hours primarily on the weekends. Reservations can be made up to a year in advance. About KIKA cas Gallery Space

KIKA cas sits tucked away in a culturally and historically rich area between Kyoto Imperial Palace and Kamo River near Kojin Bridge. Its calm yet lively neighborhood buzzes with art and culture, surrounded by various cafes and shops. KIKA cas aims to provide guests with innovative art experiences from season to season.

Available Events and Uses

KIKA cas is ideal for a variety of creative activities, including:

• Exhibitions: Solo and group exhibitions. The third-floor lounge is also available during exhibitions and offers a relaxing view of the Imperial Palace’s greenery.
• Performances: Live performances with excellent visibility from Kawaramachi Street through its floor-to-ceiling glass windows and 24m² of space.
• Talk Events: Talk events and workshops related to art and culture. We also accept rentals on a time-slot basis for shorter events.

Rental Fees and Hours(includes lounge use)

Business Hours: Thu–Mon 13:00–19:00

Base Fee: ¥80,000 (tax excluded)
※ This fee covers three days of use, including setup and takedown. For one-day use, please use the hourly rental option.

Second Day On: ¥20,000 per day (tax excluded)
※ Extra charges apply for outside hours. (see terms for details)

Hourly Rental: ¥15,000 per hour.
※ Usage time includes setup and cleanup

Reservation Process

To reserve, please contact KIKA cas to discuss your preferred dates and project details. After confirming availability, we will proceed with the booking. Depending on the content, submission of an exhibition plan may be required. Upon finalizing, please complete the application form and make a 50% advance payment. Note that some projects may be declined.

Important Notes

Space and Capacity: 24m², max 25 people.

Cancellation: Cancellation within 3 months will result in a 50% fee; within 1 month, a 100% fee.

Setup and Takedown: Setup occurs on Mondays and takedown on Thursdays. Additional fees apply to use the venue on other days.

Venue Rules: Building premises and equipment must be handled with care and consideration to other guests and the neighborhood by moderating distracting sounds and scents. Any damage to the facilities must be compensated by the renter.
